«The State Patent Service of the Kyrgyz Republic will not tamper with websites content», - said Mr. Ulan Melisbek, Director of Kyrgyzpatent during the press conference at «24.kg» news agency. He and his colleagues have explained the reasons and consequences of the Decree by President of the Kyrgyz Republic, according to which the KG ccTLD administration will be redelegated to Kyrgyzpatent.

“Kyrgyzpatent has no interest in websites content”, Mr. Melisbek noted, “however, should any controlling, police authority or the Security Council of the Kyrgyz Republic identify that the content of any website is contradicting to the legislation and order us to close this website, we must obey».

This, according to Director of Kyrgyzpatent, does not mean that websites would be closed due to the wish of certain persons. “We do not recognize any administrative pressure”, - Mr. Ulan Melisbek emphasized.

Representatives of Kyrgyzpatent assured that the field of administration of the State Patent Service is related to domain names exclusively. Kyrgyzpatent is going to prevent violations of trademarks owners when registering the domain names. Mr. Melisbek gave an example of ebay.kg website. According to him, ebay is a universally known trademark, and operating the website with such a name in the .KG zone is inadmissible without permission of its owners.
