Kyrgyz Republic provided legal protection of all plant genus and species in the Kyrgyz Republic
In accordance with paragraph 2 (ii) of Article 3 of the International Convention for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV), legal protection provided to all plant genus and species no later than 10 years since the signing of the UPOV Convention by the UPOV member-state. The Kyrgyz Republic acceded to the 1991 Act of the Convention UPOV and became a full member of the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants in 2000.
Second day of the workshop: practical training
The workshop entitled “Intellectual Property and Patent Search Strategies”, jointly organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the State Intellectual Property Service (Kyrgyzpatent) continued its work on June 13, 2011 in Bishkek.
The second day of the workshop was dedicated to hands-on training. Participants of the workshop developed their skills of searching to establish the state of the art and patentability. Training was carried out under the supervision of WIPO and TISC experts.

The Workshop entitled “Intellectual Property and Patent Search Strategies” started on July 12, 2011 in Bishkek, jointly organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the State Intellectual Property Service (Kyrgyzpatent).
Representatives of universities, research centers, entrepreneurs, patent attorneys and staff of the State Fund of Intellectual Property, State Patent Technical Library and Kyrgyzpatent officials participated in the workshop.
The WIPO Regional Seminar on the Implementation of the WIPO Development Agenda finished its work
The WIPO Regional Seminar on the Implementation of the WIPO Development Agenda organized by the WIPO in cooperation with Kyrgyzpatent finished its work on June 16, 2011 in conference hall of Jannat hotel.
The third day of the seminar was dedicated to national experiences of various countries on the development of IP strategies.
During discussion of the national experiences on IP strategies, the presentations of Belarus, Turkey, and Serbia were given.
