The “Round Table” on the topic “Traditional Knowledge and Intellectual Property” took place in the State Intellectual Property Service building on June 15, 2010.

The leadership of departments and experts on intellectual property subject matters of the SIPS, scientists, representatives of interested state bodies and representatives of non governmental organizations, directly concerned with traditional knowledge, participated in the Round Table.

The press session for journalists by the topic “Is it possible to fight effectively against piracy in Kyrgyzstan?” took place in the State Intellectual Property Service’s conference hall on May 11.

The seventh meeting of the Standing Working Group on the Information Technologies of the Eurasian Patent Office Administrative Council took place in the EAPO headquarter in Moscow.

“Library to reader, reader to library” under this slogan the State Patent Technical Library realized a special action, dedicated to the Libraries Day of the Kyrgyz Republic.

It is just for the second year Librarians of Kyrgyzstan celebrate their professional holiday - “Libraries Day”. This day librarians try to express to state officers libraries’ role and importance at a civil society establishing, for democratization, social and economic development.

The Opening ceremony of the Book Exhibition dedicated to 85th anniversary of Mr. Sooronbai Jusuev took place on May 26 in the National Library. Mr. Daniar Sydykov, Deputy Director of the State Intellectual Property Service of the KR together with culture workers, representatives of the social and public bodies participated in this ceremony.

Mrs. Elmira Ibraimova, Coordinator of the Provisional Government presented new Director to Kyrgyzpatent staff.

The selling-exhibition “Vernal Pallet” of young painters’ works opened in the National Fine Arts Museum. The State Intellectual Property Fund under Kyrgyzpatent and Youth Division of the Artists Union of the KR organized exhibition.

The ICANN Corporation has postponed the question consideration on administrative function redelegation of the national domain zone “KG”.

The negotiations may be continued after elections, establishing of ingoing administration and when the main politic directions of new government in the field of Internet will be determined. At the same time the State Intellectual Property Service (SIPS) has opportunity to stand up for the right to transfer its assignment on the national domain zone administration.

Kyrgyzpatent published the collection “Yiyk duino-yr duino” (“Sacred world - poetry world”) devoted to Victory Day. Book is dedicated to creators, inventors, poets and writers, who participated in the Great Patriotic War.

From April 29 to 30 the Forum “Development of the Internet-sphere in Central Asia 2010” took place in Almaty (Kazakhstan) organized by the International Journalists Center MediaNet, Kazakhstan Media Alliance with assistance of Konrad Adenuaera’s fun and the OSCE Center in Astana.
