The State Intellectual Property Service of Kyrgyzstan in 2009 collected for about three million soms for royalties paying, - Mrs. Liudmila Pavlovich, Head of the Press Service informed the correspondent of “KABAR” News Agency.

According to her, every year this sum growth amounts by 10-15 per cent. Among the total number of collected authors works 50 per cent are domestic works and 50 per cent are foreign works.

Mrs. Pavlovich noted that at present time more than 500 Kyrgyz authors have concluded agreements with Kyrgyzpatent on authorities’ delegation for copyright management. “Amount of author’s royalties of the domestic performers are notably more modest, than Russian colleges have, particularly at the ratio of 100 soms and 15 thousand soms” - she added.
Head of the Press Service also underlined that in the Soviet age the All-Soviet Union Agency on Copyright had existed, which was cared for benefits receiving by creative people but after the independent state agency appearance (Kyrgyzpatent) these issues were not be touched in full measure. “Because at present time such union is absent in the Republic, authors delegate authorities for their rights protection to Kyrgyzpatent, making special contracts for their property rights managing”, Mrs. Pavlovich concluded.
