Market analysis of video and audio production shows that the overall level of piracy in Bishkek is 89,23% .
Mr. Ulan Melisbek, Chairman of the State Patent Service of the Kyrgyz Republic, reported about this fact during the meeting of Interdepartmental Commission on Combat against Infringements
in the field of intellectual property, which took place on August 7.
He also informed that during the period since August 2008 to present time the Law Machinery of the Republic has withdrawn 96 753 exemplars of CDs from illegal traffic of video, audio and other production to submit for examination (audio, video cassettes, CD, DVD). Preliminary examination found that all materials contained the essential features of counterfeit.
Currently 156 outlets realize their activities to sell this type of product in Bishkek city, he added.
