China plans to launch regular campaign to fight against intellectual property rights violation and piracy in the Internet

China launches the implementation of the 5th Special National Campaign for IP protection and fight against piracy in the Internet according to the Information Agency Sinhua (Shanghai) of July 23. Currently the Campaign is governed with clear instructions from the State Department of Copyright, the Ministry of Social Security and the Ministry of Industrialization and Information. This was announced on Wednesday by Mrs. Chjay Lifen, the representative of above mentioned State Department.

At the opening ceremony of the 7th Chinese International Forum for the Cyber Entertainment Industry, Mrs Chjay Lifen said that during the ongoing campaign along with serious assault on IP rights violation and piracy, the main attention will be given to the creation of the suitable order for use and distribution of Copyright subject matters in the Internet.

It was noted that similar campaigns in China have been organized since 2005. During these campaigns 2140 cases were considered, 65 of which were directed to juridical authorities for further investigation and 810 illegal websites were closed down.
