Three-day Workshop on Patent Information, Launch of Technology & Innovation Support Centers (TISC), organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization and the State Intellectual Property Service, started on November 23, 2010.

The Workshop was opened by Mrs. Zina Isabaeva, Director of Kyrgyzpatent and Mrs. Monica Zikova, Project Coordinator, Global Information Service (WIPO) with wishes of fruitful work to participants.

The Workshop is a part of the agreement to launch such centers; the first and leading of them will be created on the basis of the State Fund of Intellectual Property under Kyrgyzpatent. This Agreement was signed by Dr. Francis Gurry, Director General of the WIPO and Mrs. Zina Isabaeva, Director of Kyrgyzpatent on September 2010 in Geneva.

In Technology & Innovation Support Centers representatives of scientific community, inventors, students of technical universities and representatives of business community might obtain consultations, assistance in searching of technical and patent information and other services concerning development of technology, innovation promotion, IPRs management. The establishment of such centers in the capital and thereafter in regions will promote commercialization of R&Ds by domestic scientists, inventors and innovators, as well as it will promote introduction of new technology and formation of innovation market in Kyrgyzstan that would be important for competitiveness growth of economy.
