The Kyrgyz Republic shared 97th, 98th, 99th and 100th places with Ukraine, Indonesia and Macedonia in the International Property Rights Index (IPRI) 2010.

This information published Bishkek Business Club on its web-site. According to this source, all of these countries garnered 4,1 points by ten-point scale of the rating. Finland is in the first place (8,6 points from 10). Denmark and Swiss are on the second and the third places (8,5 points). Netherlands is the forth. Concerning our strategic partners, the USA are in 15th place (7,9 points), Russia and Kazakhstan shared from 88th to 94th places with Peru, Guatemala, Kenya, Madagascar and Brunei. These states were appreciated by Index to 4,3 points.

The Intellectual Property Rights Index assesses how a state protects rights of the citizens regarding material and intellectual property. Index consists of three pointers: the State Laws, Intellectual Property Rights Protection, Material Property Rights Protection. According to each pointer, from 1 to 10 points to be assigned, then a sum to be calculated. The research is realized annually by the Jerusalem Institute for Market Studies. This year 125 states were covered. In the research 62 organizations participated, including the Bishkek Business Club jointly with the Private Property Protection Alliance in Washington and Hernando de Soto Fellowship Program.
