Scholars are going to hear about intellectual property

The competition called “What does intellectual property mean and who does create it?” will take place in April in schools of Jalal-Abad, Osh, Naryn, Kant, Talas. Senior pupils will compete by their knowledge in the field of intellectual property and winners will obtain prizes from organizers – the State Patent Technical Library’s officials.

“Firstly a similar competition we realized jointly with the State Intellectual Property Service last year. As a present one it was confined to the World and National Intellectual Property Day, - told Mrs. Liudmila Baklykova, Director of the SPTL. –“It was a trivia with participation of 9-10 grade scholars from five capital schools. As a prize winners received T-shirts with Kyrgyzpatent’s logo. Guys showed high level of knowledge in the recent unknown field, clearly, competently answered to all questions of trivia and amazed organizers by their activities”.

This year the library staff decided to distribute their experience of knowledge popularization on intellectual property to other regions of the country. They developed a draft and won a grant for graduates of Educational Programs of the US State Department. Specialists of the library worked out a check lists on intellectual property subjects matters and published them in Russian and Kyrgyz thanks to grant means. Such check lists will distribute in schools, child libraries and also in libraries of lyceums and colleges.

Officials of the SPTL are going to continue this work, entering into cooperation to schools of the capital and in regions, which have access to the Internet.
