Building bridges of cooperation

Yesterday on February 19, 2010 Mr. Ulan Melisbek, Kyrgyzpatent Director met with Mr. Hideaki Maruyama, the JICA Resident Representative in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.

Mr. Maruyama came to the Kyrgyzpatent Office accompanying by Ms. Ainura Imanalieva, Specialist on Development Programs of the JICA Agency. From the SIPS the following officials participated: Mr. Nurlan Bayaman, Director of the Center for the “KG” ccTLD Administration, Mrs. Zarina Omorova, Director of the State Fund of Intellectual Property, Mr. Nasyr Jakypbek uulu, Head of the Division for Monitoring and IP Subject matters Commercialization, and Mr. Farhat Ibragimov, Head of External Relations Division (by the way in his time he had studied in Japan).

The meeting was proceeding in informal atmosphere. Kyrgyzpatent officials were speaking with the high guest without interpreter, pleasantly astonishing Mr. Maruyama. The parties exchanged by information on their Offices activities and discussed cooperation prospect. As is well known, the JICA Agency in framework of its working in Kyrgyzstan provides to public structures a technical, grant and expert support aimed at potential and effectiveness arising.

According to Mr. Ulan Melisbek at present time a perspective line of cooperation with the JICA would be development of the Center for the “KG”ccTLD administration, as well as IP subject matters commercialization. In response Mr. Maruyama expressed the readiness to support Kyrgyzpatent at these issues resolving; he stressed that a high potential of the SIPS officials will permit to intensify the process of joint project realization.
