On 28th of 2010 the KG ccTLD Administration Center under the State Intellectual Property Service was registered in the Ministry of Justice as a legal entity.

Earlier, in compliance with the Presidential Decree, dated 7 April, 2009 # 192 “On the Arranging the Functioning of the National Domain Names System” and the Presidential Decree, dated 15 January 2009 # 5 “On the issues of the State Intellectual Property Service of the Kyrgyz Republic” the Kyrgyzpatent has drafted and enacted a Regulation on the KG domain zone administering center in order to arrange the functioning of the national domain names system.

The Regulation on the Center was approved with the consent of all interested ministries and public organizations.

The KG domain zone administering Center will be financed at the expense of the Kyrgyzpatent.

The main goals of the Center are:
- carrying out of regulative functions in the field of administering of KG national domain zone according to the requirements of Internet Corporation of Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), an international organization responsible for coordination of these issues;
- rendering services on arranging the functioning of domain names system;
- expanding the usage of Internet network in the Kyrgyz Republic;
- maintaining the compliance of the functioning of the KG national domain with international standards;
- ensuring quality and accessibility to the services on domain names registration;
- ensuring reliability of the domain name registration and maintenance system;
- drafting legal framework for ensuring the registration of domain names and control of their efficient implementation;
- training of specialists in the field of domain names registration;
- encouraging competition in the field of domain names registration;
- elaboration of new alternative dispute settlement mechanisms, related to the registration of domain names.
