Sub-Regional Seminar on Enforcement Intellectual Property Rights was held in St. Peterburg from June 8 to 9, 2009.

This meeting was organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization, Federal Service on Intellectual Property, Patents and Trademarks (Rospatent) in cooperation with the National Industrial Property Institute (INPI).

Mr. Serguei Fiveiski, Deputy of Chairman of the Committee on Economic Development, Industrial Policy and Trade (St. Peterburg), Mr. Benoit Battistelli, General Director of the National Industrial Property Institute (Paris) and Mr. Boris Simonov, Chairman of the Federal Service on Intellectual Property, Patents and Trademarks (Moscow) presented their welcome speeches.
Series of round tables were held within the meeting relating to intellectual property protection and roles of offices on intellectual property and France National Committee on fight against piracy, disputes in the field of intellectual property and judicial system of the Russian Federation and France, as well as roles of lawyer and patent attorneys in the Russian Federation and in France.
The role of other ministries and offices in the field of intellectual property rights protection were discussed.
