Presentation on the role of Intellectual Property rights in technology transfer – follow up of International Seminar in Ankara

On April 30, 2009 the presentation for Kyrgyzpatent employees was held as a follow up of Kyrgyzstan participation in the Subregional Seminar on the Role of Intellectual Property Rights in Technology Transfer – Problems-Solutions, Examples from Turkey and World.

This presentation has been conducted by Mr. Arstanbek Berdaliev, Head of Special Sector, since he participated in this event. He talked about international experiences in technology transfer, experience of developed countries and about the workshop and its outcomes.

The subregional seminar, which was sponsored by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the Turkish Patent Institute (TPI) was held in Ankara, Turkey on March 12 and 13, 2009. The purpose of the event was to share experiences on the issues related to the role of IPRs in technology transfer in developed European and American countries, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and in the Central Asian countries.
Presentations were made by experts from UNECE, TPI, WIPO, UK and representatives of patent offices of Tajikistan, Azebaijan and the Kyrgyz Republic.

Delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic comprised of two representatives – Mr. Turuspek Koenaliev, Deputy Director and Mr. Arstanbek Berdaliev, Head of Special Sector.
In general, Kyrgyzpatent taking into account best practices of advanced countries in the field of technology transfer from research institutions to industry, will play a critical interlinking role. Kyrgyzpatent suggested to train a specialist in the field in leading European countries.
