The Solemn Assembly on the eve of the World and National Intellectual Property Day took place on April 26, 2011 in the State Residence “Ala-Archa”. Representatives of the Government, Ministries and Agencies, Deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh, leadership and specialists of the State Intellectual Property Service, representatives of creative and scientific communities, non-governmental and international organizations participated in this event.

The solemn ceremony of the winners awarding of the eighth national competition “The best work in the field of inventive activity for 2009-2010” within a framework of celebration the World and National Day of Intellectual Property took place on April 21, 2011 in the State Intellectual Property Service’s building.

Is intellectual property knowledge needed to our community? Members of the student debate mini tournament discussed this question within a framework of mouth’s campaign dedicated to the World and National Intellectual Property Day.

Students of leading universities from the capital and regions got together in the State Patent Technical Library. Ms. Altynai Djumalieva, Coordinator of Debate Community presented members of tournament and told about rules of the game in classic format of debates of the British Parliament.

The Round Table on the topic: “Legal Protection of New Plant Varieties” will take place on April 21, 2011 in the State Intellectual Property Service’s building.

The Regional Seminar on Issues Addressed in the Standing Committee on Law of Patents (SCP)of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) was opened on April 12 in the State Residence “Ala-Archa”. The Seminar was organized by the State Intellectual Property Service of the Kyrgyz Republic (Kyrgyzpatent) under auspices of the WIPO.

On April 13, 2011, the Regional Seminar on the Issues Addressed in the WIPO Standing Committee on the Law of Patents continued its work in the State Residence “Ala-Archa”.

The second day of the Seminar was dedicated to such topics as the International Perspective and National Experiences of Patent Opposition System Development; Client-Patent Advisor Privilege; Transfer Technology and also Patents and Public Health.

Kyrgyzpatent carries out a series of events under the motto: “Designing Future” dedicated to the World and National Intellectual Property Day, which we celebrate annually on April 26. Mr. Ajibai Kalmamatov, Director of the State Intellectual Property Service informed about this during the Press conference in the “KirTAG” News Agency.

The World Intellectual Property Organization has changed its logo. The new logo reflects the Organization’s dynamism and innovative spirit, and is a powerful symbol of WIPO’s revitalization and strategic reorientation. It is based on a graphic representation of the WIPO headquarters’ building, an iconic structure familiar to all WIPO member states and stakeholders. The color blue links the Organization with the United Nations.

On April 26 the solemn event dedicated to the World and National Intellectual Property Day took place in the conference hall of the National Library. The leadership and specialists of Kyrgyzpatent, scientists, artists, outstanding inventors and innovators, patent officials, students participated in this event.

The Press conference dedicated to the World Intellectual Property Days in Kyrgyzstan took place on March 31, 2010 in “Kabar” News Agency.

Mr. Ulan Melisbek, Director of the State Intellectual Property Service, Mr. Daniar Sadykov, Deputy Director and Mr. Abdikalil Tokoev, Head of Examination Department participated in the Press conference.

During the meeting with journalists, Kyrgyzpatent leadership announced the plan of actions, confined to celebrating of the World and National Intellectual Property Day on 26 April.
